Safety and quality of our Italian made sunglasses is our #1 concern here at ro•sham•bo baby. We have designed our shades and carrying case with baby in mind, especially baby’s desire to put them in their mouth! Our shades and our case have been laboratory certified as BPA free, lead free, latex free, heavy metal free, among many other nasty things! They are also in compliance with the U.S. federal hazardous substances act 16 cfr 1501 for small parts (fancy way of saying there are no bad chemicals and no small parts that might fall off and be a choking hazard for your little one!). All of our lenses are tested by our manufacturer and an independent lab to make sure they are compliant with all US, EU and other international UV standards to block 100% UVA/B/C rays. We also limit the paint in our product that might chip off in baby’s mouth by molding in our logos to the sides. Want proof of this science mumbo jumbo? Us too, so here’s the lab result.

All ro•sham•bo baby sunglasses are polarized. Polarized lenses reduce glare and eye strain, while still delivering 100% UVA/B/C protection. All of our lenses are tested by our manufacturer and an independent lab to make sure they are compliant with all US, EU and other international UV standards to block 100% UVA/B/C rays. Tri Acetate Cellulose (TAC) polarized lenses feature a new lens technology formulated for superior visual and polarization clarity. They have a scratch coating and block 100% harmful UV rays up to 400 nanometers. These lenses are very lightweight and highly impact resistant. ro•sham•bo baby is owned and operated by San Diego family Scott, Julia and their baby girls, Avery (4) and Chloe (1). We started our little company after realizing that nobody was making high-quality baby sunglasses or stylish baby shades while at a baseball game with a friend’s four month old who was staring up at the bright sun with no protection. Scott put his adult sunglasses on him and lightning struck: Little People Deserve Big People Shades. That means making our stylish baby shades in Italy instead of China. That means making them safe, durable, flexible, and chewable for little mouths. And that means making them just as stylish as designer adult shades.

Two years later, we had the world’s best high-quality baby sunglasses ready for your little one and ours! Scott didn't want stop there though, he wanted to wear matching unbreakable pink shades with Avery, so we made kids and adult sizes so the whole family can match!

Our name ro•sham•bo baby is a reference to the nostalgic game we all grew up playing (otherwise know as “rock, paper, scissor,” but “rock paper scissor baby” doesn’t have quite the same ring to it…). It also pays tribute to our autism support mission: special education and autism teachers have told us that playing ro•sham•bo can be a valuable teaching tool when kids need a quiet, calming, and personal interaction with a teacher. We have autism in our family, so this has been and always will be a pillar of our business.

We launched in June 2013 with a crowdfunding campaign to test the market for stylish baby shades and build up needed capital to fund more inventory and build this website. The result was overwhelming and the customer support and glowing feedback we received further fuelled our ambition to make this dream of producing and selling high-quality baby sunglasses a reality.

    Here at Naked Baby we know that when you choose to order online you don’t want to sacrifice ready availability by sitting around for several days or even weeks for your products to arrive. That’s why we pride ourselves on prompt dispatch and quick delivery! Generally, orders that are received prior to 9:00 AM are dispatched within the same day. All orders received after 9:00 AM are dispatched the next day (some exceptions may apply). Orders are dispatched Monday through Friday (excluding public holidays). Please note, however, that sometimes "life happens" and it may take us an extra day to catch up on things. If, for any reason, we anticipate a significant delay in the shipping of your items, we will notify you as soon as possible via e-mail.

    Being an eco-friendly company, we do our best to keep this philosophy in mind through all of our business practices. This includes our shipping materials. Please note that, when at all possible, parcels are shipped using recycled boxes and packaging. While the box your package is shipped in may not look the prettiest – we’re pretty sure the trees won’t mind! Packing materials are made from recyclable and biodegradable materials, as are our business cards and other printed material (and printed using eco-friendly ink!).

    Here are a few good things to know:

    • Standard shipping charges within New Zealand start at $6.50 per order and increase incrementally with the weight of your order. Please note that the Checkout page will provide you with an estimation of your shipping charges (NOTE: shipping charges count toward your Prestige Points accumulation).
    • All items are shipped via non-signature Courier Post using an overnight service*, with the exception of large packages travelling to the North Island.  These packages are shipped via a 2-3 day service. 
    • Please note that, in all cases, rural deliveries may incur an extra 2-3 day delivery time.
    • Unfortunately, once your package has left our hands, we cannot be responsible for the delivery time of the couriers/rural delivery drivers in your area.
    • Should you require a faster level of service, signature-guaranteed or Saturday delivery, please contact us (orders@nakedbaby.co.nz) and we can arrange this for you (at the cost of the requested service).
    • If you have special delivery instructions, please leave a note in the “Comments” section of your order when checking out.

      RETURN POLICY

      At Naked Baby Eco Boutique, we don’t actually have a return policy for purchases made at our boutique. We handle returns on a case-by-case basis with the ultimate objective of satisfying the customer. We stand behind our goods and services and want our customers to be satisfied with them. It is our goal to do our best to take care of customers; to deal with them fairly and reasonably. In return, we hope that our customers are fair and reasonable with us, too.

      In doing this, we hope to build trust with our customers and create a long-term relationship of mutual respect. Standing behind what we sell is a big part of that. We like to think that many customers choose to shop with us because they know that if their purchase isn’t right, we will work to fix it for them.

      Should a return be deemed the best remedy, if you paid by credit card, we will credit your account within 14 days. If you paid by direct banking, we will get in touch for your banking details and credit your account. If you paid by Gift Voucher, a replacement voucher will be issued to you.

      Unfortunately, shipping charges cannot be refunded to you (and return shipping charges are your responsibility). Additionally, in general, our shipping fees cost more than what we charge our customers. Should this be the case on a return, the difference between the cost of the shipping and what the customer paid for shipping will be deducted from the total return amount.

      DO I NEED A RECEIPT FROM MY PURCHASES?

      Your receipt or order number helps us to locate your purchase in the fastest way possible. However, if you don’t have a receipt, we should be able to find the purchase in other ways. From time-to-time, we may ask you for more information so we can better assist with your request.

      DO YOU TAKE EVERYTHING BACK?

      We’ll do our best to take care of you, but from time-to-time, we cannot accommodate a return. Sale items which have since been discontinued from our collection are only eligible for a store credit.  Food and formula cannot be returned, nor can opened packages of nappies or wipes.

      IS THERE A TIME LIMIT? WHAT IF THE ITEM IS WORN?

      Our goal is to do our best to take care of our customers and deal with them fairly. In return, we ask that our customers treat us fairly as well. From time-to-time we may not accept a return. There is no time limit for returns or exchanges.

      ARE THERE RE-STOCKING FEES?

      No. However, generally, our shipping fees cost more than what we charge our customers. Should this be the case on a return, the difference between the cost of the shipping and what the customer paid for shipping will be deducted from the total return amount.

      CAN GIFT CARDS BE RETURNED?

      No.

      CAN HEALTH, BATH AND FOOD/FORMULA PRODUCTS BE RETURNED?

      No.

      IS SHIPPING REFUNDABLE ON RETURNS?

      No, it is not. The customer is also responsible for the return cost of shipping to get the product back to Naked Baby Eco Boutique.

      Naked Baby delivers products of the highest quality, which should arrive in excellent condition. If, for any reason, there appears to be something wrong with your product or you discover the item is faulty, please contact us immediately (and, if possible, include a photo) so the problem can be resolved. It is our goal to do everything we can to resolve the situation to your satisfaction.

      In the instance of a faulty or damaged item, Naked Baby Eco Boutique will cover the return shipping costs.

      LOYALTY POINTS AND RETURNS

      If an item is returned, any loyalty points earned on the purchase will be debited from the purchaser’s loyalty points account. Should the current points balance be less than the points earned on the item returned, then the points balance will be returned to zero and the dollar value of the loyalty points shortfall will be deducted from the refund or credit given for the returned item.
