Ecoriginals nappies are no less than 80% biodegradable in 100% compostable packaging. Their baby wipes are 100% compostable and biodegradable in recyclable packaging. We highly recommend home composting the nappy packaging and wipes. Ecoriginals nappies are no less than 80% biodegradable, but due to fecal matter, it's suggested that you dispose of your nappies in biodegradable bags in standard landfill (which takes approximately 6 months to break down as opposed to 500 years, like conventional nappies).

The dynamics of each individual landfill site can affect how quickly or long an Ecoriginals nappy takes to break down, like any other rubbish. Landfill sites are getting much better in their designs these days, with much stricter regulations, so the levels of oxygen present or not can vary as each site can be managed differently and rubbish can be circulated with machinery to ensure degradation is occurring. Some of these newer sites promote biodegradation through the injection of water, oxygen and microbes. Commonly, things like vermin and bacteria found at landfill sites help to break down nappies also.

Biodegradability can occur without oxygen present; it just takes longer. The important fact is that if you dispose of a product that contains predominantly biodegradable ingredients, such as an Ecoriginals nappy, then it will break down much faster compared to a conventional nappy full of plastic. Ecoriginals nappies are no less than 80% biodegradable. They have done significant laboratory testing with the CSIRO, and the average guide is 6 months (unlike 500 years for conventional nappies).

Separately to the nappies, the 100% compostable bag packaging being used will quickly and easily break down, which is cutting edge for the industry internationally, and is certified compostable.

We are Australian parents with 3 kids, living in Byron Bay.

When we had our youngest daughter 6 years ago we found ourselves really frustrated with the eco nappies that were available. They were either really expensive or not that eco at all.

We ended up spending a small fortune on every single eco nappy brand available in Australia and to our disappointment we didn’t particularly like any of them because they were either too expensive for everyday use, or they really weren’t that green at all.

We spent evenings around our table talking about the kind of nappy we wanted to buy – truly eco-friendly, great quality, super soft and most importantly, super absorbent so perfect for day and night time use and no plastic packaging!! As much as we wanted to include many eco ingredients it had to perform really well and must be affordable too so that it was a natural decision for parents like us to move away from the conventional nappies to a nappy that could decompose much quicker.

We then spent 2.5 years researching, trialling, testing, travelling and talking to different mums, manufacturers, retailers, scientists and green organizations around the world! We even took our little bub with us on one of our research trip, traipsing around factories, and growing our knowledge and our product. After many grey hairs, and our life savings, we were super proud to launch our nappies into the Australian marketplace in December 2013, after pre-selling them for the 12 months prior to that (having sold over a 40 foot container of nappies before we even manufactured our first batch!).

Now our nappies and wipes are available in many retail outlets Australia wide, and through our online store. We are proud to say tens of thousands of Australian babies wear our nappies already! We have sold over 20 million nappies in the market, and we proudly launched our baby wipes (completely plant based with no nasties!) in early 2015, and plan to release first weeks newborn and pull ups soon, along with other exciting products! We are also working on global distribution as we are contacted weekly by partners in overseas countries who want to sell our nappies!

We have also won a raft of awards for our fast growth start up business, and have huge plans for our business. Here at Naked Baby we know that when you choose to order online you don’t want to sacrifice ready availability by sitting around for several days or even weeks for your products to arrive. That’s why we pride ourselves on prompt dispatch and quick delivery! Generally, orders that are received prior to 9:00 AM are dispatched within the same day. All orders received after 9:00 AM are dispatched the next day (some exceptions may apply). Orders are dispatched Monday through Friday (excluding public holidays). Please note, however, that sometimes "life happens" and it may take us an extra day to catch up on things. If, for any reason, we anticipate a significant delay in the shipping of your items, we will notify you as soon as possible via e-mail.

Being an eco-friendly company, we do our best to keep this philosophy in mind through all of our business practices. This includes our shipping materials. Please note that, when at all possible, parcels are shipped using recycled boxes and packaging. While the box your package is shipped in may not look the prettiest – we’re pretty sure the trees won’t mind! Packing materials are made from recyclable and biodegradable materials, as are our business cards and other printed material (and printed using eco-friendly ink!).

SHIPPING CHARGES - NEW ZEALAND

Here are a few good things to know:

  • Standard shipping charges within New Zealand start at $6.50 per order and increase incrementally with the weight of your order. Please note that the Checkout page will provide you with an estimation of your shipping charges (NOTE: shipping charges count toward your Prestige Points accumulation).
  • All items are shipped via non-signature Courier Post using an overnight service*, with the exception of large packages travelling to the North Island.  These packages are shipped via a 2-3 day service. 
  • Please note that, in all cases, rural deliveries may incur an extra 2-3 day delivery time.
  • Unfortunately, once your package has left our hands, we cannot be responsible for the delivery time of the couriers/rural delivery drivers in your area.
  • Should you require a faster level of service, signature-guaranteed or Saturday delivery, please contact us (orders@nakedbaby.co.nz) and we can arrange this for you (at the cost of the requested service).
  • If you have special delivery instructions, please leave a note in the “Comments” section of your order when checking out.

    RETURN POLICY

    At Naked Baby Eco Boutique, we don’t actually have a return policy for purchases made at our boutique. We handle returns on a case-by-case basis with the ultimate objective of satisfying the customer. We stand behind our goods and services and want our customers to be satisfied with them. It is our goal to do our best to take care of customers; to deal with them fairly and reasonably. In return, we hope that our customers are fair and reasonable with us, too.

    In doing this, we hope to build trust with our customers and create a long-term relationship of mutual respect. Standing behind what we sell is a big part of that. We like to think that many customers choose to shop with us because they know that if their purchase isn’t right, we will work to fix it for them.

    Should a return be deemed the best remedy, if you paid by credit card, we will credit your account within 14 days. If you paid by direct banking, we will get in touch for your banking details and credit your account. If you paid by Gift Voucher, a replacement voucher will be issued to you.

    Unfortunately, shipping charges cannot be refunded to you (and return shipping charges are your responsibility). Additionally, in general, our shipping fees cost more than what we charge our customers. Should this be the case on a return, the difference between the cost of the shipping and what the customer paid for shipping will be deducted from the total return amount.

    DO I NEED A RECEIPT FROM MY PURCHASES?

    Your receipt or order number helps us to locate your purchase in the fastest way possible. However, if you don’t have a receipt, we should be able to find the purchase in other ways. From time-to-time, we may ask you for more information so we can better assist with your request.

    DO YOU TAKE EVERYTHING BACK?

    We’ll do our best to take care of you, but from time-to-time, we cannot accommodate a return. Sale items which have since been discontinued from our collection are only eligible for a store credit.  Food and formula cannot be returned, nor can opened packages of nappies or wipes.

    IS THERE A TIME LIMIT? WHAT IF THE ITEM IS WORN?

    Our goal is to do our best to take care of our customers and deal with them fairly. In return, we ask that our customers treat us fairly as well. From time-to-time we may not accept a return. There is no time limit for returns or exchanges.

    ARE THERE RE-STOCKING FEES?

    No. However, generally, our shipping fees cost more than what we charge our customers. Should this be the case on a return, the difference between the cost of the shipping and what the customer paid for shipping will be deducted from the total return amount.

    CAN GIFT CARDS BE RETURNED?

    No.

    CAN HEALTH, BATH AND FOOD/FORMULA PRODUCTS BE RETURNED?

    No.

    IS SHIPPING REFUNDABLE ON RETURNS?

    No, it is not. The customer is also responsible for the return cost of shipping to get the product back to Naked Baby Eco Boutique.

    FAULTY OR DAMAGED ITEMS

    Naked Baby delivers products of the highest quality, which should arrive in excellent condition. If, for any reason, there appears to be something wrong with your product or you discover the item is faulty, please contact us immediately (and, if possible, include a photo) so the problem can be resolved. It is our goal to do everything we can to resolve the situation to your satisfaction.

    In the instance of a faulty or damaged item, Naked Baby Eco Boutique will cover the return shipping costs.

    LOYALTY POINTS AND RETURNS

    If an item is returned, any loyalty points earned on the purchase will be debited from the purchaser’s loyalty points account. Should the current points balance be less than the points earned on the item returned, then the points balance will be returned to zero and the dollar value of the loyalty points shortfall will be deducted from the refund or credit given for the returned item.
