COVID-19 UPDATE

AN UPDATE FROM US ❤️

UPDATE: April 21, 2020

PLEASE NOTE: orders are currently taking approximately 3-5 BUSINESS DAYS to dispatch (a BUSINESS DAY starts THE DAY AFTER you have placed your order).  Whilst most orders are shipped via overnight service, there are currently SUBSTANTIAL delays within the courier network, even for overnight service.

If you urgently require your order, please get in touch and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

We are pleased to announce that shipping will resume on Tuesday, April 28, 2020. Orders will be dispatched and shipped in the order that they were received, and shipping confirmation details will be e-mailed to you as soon as dispatched.

We are so incredibly proud of all the hard work and sacrifice by New Zealanders to aggressively take a stand in the fight against COVID-19.  We are also immensely proud of all of the New Zealand businesses that held strong and made the socially responsible choice to suspend their shipping so that we could have the best chance possible of getting on top of this.  It certainly hasn't been easy, but it's been worth it.

To each and every one of you that has supported us during this time - thank you, truly, from the bottom of my heart.  It's been such a rollercoaster, and each reply to an e-mail, each "Like" and share on social media, and each sale that has come in has truly brightened my day.  I feel incredibly lucky to be part of such an amazing community.  Thank you, thank YOU, THANK YOU!! ❤️

To say that the past few days have been an emotional rollercoaster would be an understatement! With the new lockdown measures put in place, it has left a lot of businesses in grey areas, trying to figure out if they can remain open during this time.

We are one such business, and I've been trying my best to navigate my way through all of this. If you had asked me by the time I went to bed at about 9:00 PM on Tuesday night (March 24th), we were going to still continue operating, on a reduced dispatch schedule. As we operate from home and I'm the only employee, our entire operation operates in isolation as a going-concern. Additionally, we do carry baby essentials such as nappies, baby food and baby formula (brands of which aren't readily available in the supermarkets).

However, in light of the new recommendations that have come out (particularly over the past 24 hours), as well as the governments emphasis on “essential businesses” and “essential purchases only” during this time, I have made the decision to not dispatch orders during this time. This is a decision that has not come lightly. And, while we may still "technically" be alright under the "essentials" category, it feels a little bit “Warehouse-y" to try to play that card.

At the end of the day, we are an ethical business that wants to lead by example and, just because we "can" operate, doesn't necessarily mean that we "should". Right now, we do not need to be increasing touch points to spread the virus, nor do we need to be adding additional strain to any already stretched courier network (and further putting our drivers at risk). Ultimately, we hold our ethics, values and morals as people and as a business to the highest standard, so I believe this is the right decision to do our part in the fight against COVID-19. Actions speak far louder than words.

As Kiwis, personally or as a business, we have a social responsibility to do our part to ensure we eradicate this virus in New Zealand, and get out of this lockdown as quickly as possible so that everyone can pick up the pieces. I am so incredibly proud of each and every one of the businesses that has either been forced to close, or has made the conscious choice to close during this period, putting the health and safety of our fellow Kiwis before profits. ❤️ Again, “can” and “should” are two very different things, and we’ve all had to make hard choices.

Please know that my heart is with each and every one of you at the moment. This is a scary and unprecedented time, and I know that a lot of people are facing a tremendous amount of hardship. I just want you to know that you are in my heart and in my thoughts. I cannot thank you enough for your support of my little business - I truly mean that. I know that times are tough, and I know that there are a number of businesses that you could choose to spend your hard-earned (and treasured) dollars with, so thank you for choosing me and my family.

Our online shop will remain open; however, any orders placed will not be shipped again until the government says that it is safe to do so. We'll have a few goodies for you over the next few weeks and we'll be popping into your Inbox and on social media to try to spread some love, joy, cheer, and a few laughs.

I'll be at home like the rest of you, trying to stay sane), so you if you have any questions, any funny memes or stories you'd like to share, or just feel like you need a chat with someone "from the outside", please don't hesitate to get in touch.
