WHY CERTIFIED?

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the name of the governing body that oversees the certification criteria of organic cotton right around the world. Certification is critical in ensuring companies comply with the criteria necessary to have their products classified as truly organic. When purchasing organic, it’s important that you ensure products are GOTS certified because unfortunately any company can lay false and misleading claims to an organic product otherwise.

Certified farmers understand that healthy cotton promotes healthy living. They start with a clean slate, ridding their farms of all harmful substances before they start growing organic crops. Farms must be free from pesticides for three years before farming of organic cotton can commence. From the moment the seeds are sewn into the soil, right through to the finished product on the shop floor (or internet website in our case!) every process is a natural one. Organic cotton is the natural choice, when only the best will do.

WHY ORGANIC?

Certified Organic cotton is grown without the use of harmful pesticides, herbicides and chemical fertilisers whereas conventional cotton-growing techniques rely heavily on these nasties to control the quality of the soil. Ordinarily cotton is processed using dyes, bleach and a host of other unhealthy chemicals that have been attributed to allergies, eczema and even cancer. Organic cotton, on the other hand, is free from all artificial additives as well as free from formaldehyde which has been classified as a cancer-causing agent by the International Institute for Research on Cancer.

Did you know that globally cotton covers 2.5% of the world’s cultivated land, yet it uses 16%-25% of the world’s insecticides, more than any other single major crop? And five of the top nine pesticides used on conventional cotton in the US alone, are known to be cancer causing chemicals? These are just a couple of the many statistics that are now widely available to demonstrate the harmful effects of conventional cotton.

SAFE AND GENTLE

Babies have incredibly sensitive skin that is more porous and absorbent than adult skin. Similarly to the way parents carefully consider the type of shampoo or body wash to use on their baby, the textiles in clothing should also be considered because it comes into such close contact with a baby’s skin. When wearing conventional cotton, your baby spends 24 hours a day in clothing laced with chemicals. These chemicals are designed to remain in the textiles for life and even after washing it’s been scientifically proven they retain these chemicals for the entire lifespan of the garment.

Because organic cotton is pure and isn’t treated with anti-static, anti-wrinkle pesticides and all the other toxic chemicals that ordinarily goes into making cotton, it’s highly absorbent and breathes beautifully. People with allergies and sensitivity to chemicals especially benefit and we can certainly also celebrate the fact that certified organic cotton doesn’t leave any harmful side effects on the environment.

All our clothing is made using the purest 100% GOTS certified organic cotton making them gentle on your baby’s skin and even gentler on our environment. Brimming with character, each piece is adorned in the most delightfully playful and whimsical design, all individually illustrated by hand and coloured using natural based dyes.

Our entire collection is personally designed and manufactured and therefore we maintain full control over the entire process every single step of the way. We’re strictly organic from the soil our cotton is grown in, right through to the final production.

Here at Naked Baby we know that when you choose to order online you don’t want to sacrifice ready availability by sitting around for several days or even weeks for your products to arrive. That’s why we pride ourselves on prompt dispatch and quick delivery! Generally, orders that are received prior to 9:00 AM are dispatched within the same day. All orders received after 9:00 AM are dispatched the next day (some exceptions may apply). Orders are dispatched Monday through Friday (excluding public holidays). Please note, however, that sometimes "life happens" and it may take us an extra day to catch up on things. If, for any reason, we anticipate a significant delay in the shipping of your items, we will notify you as soon as possible via e-mail.  

Packaging

Being an eco-friendly company, we do our best to keep this philosophy in mind through all of our business practices. This includes our shipping materials. Please note that, when at all possible, parcels are shipped using recycled boxes and packaging. While the box your package is shipped in may not look the prettiest – we’re pretty sure the trees won’t mind! Packing materials are made from recyclable and biodegradable materials, as are our business cards and other printed material (and printed using eco-friendly ink!).

  • Standard shipping charges within New Zealand start at $6.50 per order and increase incrementally with the weight of your order.   • All items are shipped via non-signature Courier Post using an overnight service*, with the exception of large packages travelling to the North Island.  These packages are shipped via a 2-3 day service. 
  • Please note that, in all cases, rural deliveries may incur an extra 2-3 day delivery time.
  • Unfortunately, once your package has left our hands, we cannot be responsible for the delivery time of the couriers/rural delivery drivers in your area.

    RETURN POLICY

    At Naked Baby Eco Boutique, we don’t actually have a return policy for purchases made at our boutique. We handle returns on a case-by-case basis with the ultimate objective of satisfying the customer. We stand behind our goods and services and want our customers to be satisfied with them. It is our goal to do our best to take care of customers; to deal with them fairly and reasonably. In return, we hope that our customers are fair and reasonable with us, too.

    In doing this, we hope to build trust with our customers and create a long-term relationship of mutual respect. Standing behind what we sell is a big part of that. We like to think that many customers choose to shop with us because they know that if their purchase isn’t right, we will work to fix it for them.

    Should a return be deemed the best remedy, if you paid by credit card, we will credit your account within 14 days. If you paid by direct banking, we will get in touch for your banking details and credit your account. If you paid by Gift Voucher, a replacement voucher will be issued to you.

    Unfortunately, shipping charges cannot be refunded to you (and return shipping charges are your responsibility). Additionally, in general, our shipping fees cost more than what we charge our customers. Should this be the case on a return, the difference between the cost of the shipping and what the customer paid for shipping will be deducted from the total return amount.

    DO I NEED A RECEIPT FROM MY PURCHASES?

    Your receipt or order number helps us to locate your purchase in the fastest way possible. However, if you don’t have a receipt, we should be able to find the purchase in other ways. From time-to-time, we may ask you for more information so we can better assist with your request.

    DO YOU TAKE EVERYTHING BACK?

    We’ll do our best to take care of you, but from time-to-time, we cannot accommodate a return. Sale items which have since been discontinued from our collection are only eligible for a store credit.  Food and formula cannot be returned, nor can opened packages of nappies or wipes.

    IS THERE A TIME LIMIT? WHAT IF THE ITEM IS WORN?

    Our goal is to do our best to take care of our customers and deal with them fairly. In return, we ask that our customers treat us fairly as well. From time-to-time we may not accept a return. There is no time limit for returns or exchanges.

    ARE THERE RE-STOCKING FEES?

    No. However, generally, our shipping fees cost more than what we charge our customers. Should this be the case on a return, the difference between the cost of the shipping and what the customer paid for shipping will be deducted from the total return amount.

    CAN GIFT CARDS BE RETURNED?

    No.

    CAN HEALTH, BATH AND FOOD/FORMULA PRODUCTS BE RETURNED?

    IS SHIPPING REFUNDABLE ON RETURNS?

    Naked Baby delivers products of the highest quality, which should arrive in excellent condition. It is our goal to do everything we can to resolve the situation to your satisfaction.

    In the instance of a faulty or damaged item, Naked Baby Eco Boutique will cover the return shipping costs.

If you are not happy with any aspect of your purchasing experience, please let us know so we may resolve these issues. Our aim is to not only meet our obligations under the Consumer Guarantees Act, but to exceed our customers’ expectations.

      RETURN POLICY

      At Naked Baby Eco Boutique, we don’t actually have a return policy for purchases made at our boutique. We handle returns on a case-by-case basis with the ultimate objective of satisfying the customer. We stand behind our goods and services and want our customers to be satisfied with them. It is our goal to do our best to take care of customers; to deal with them fairly and reasonably. In return, we hope that our customers are fair and reasonable with us, too.

      In doing this, we hope to build trust with our customers and create a long-term relationship of mutual respect. Standing behind what we sell is a big part of that. We like to think that many customers choose to shop with us because they know that if their purchase isn’t right, we will work to fix it for them.

      Should a return be deemed the best remedy, if you paid by credit card, we will credit your account within 14 days. If you paid by direct banking, we will get in touch for your banking details and credit your account. If you paid by Gift Voucher, a replacement voucher will be issued to you.

      Unfortunately, shipping charges cannot be refunded to you (and return shipping charges are your responsibility). Additionally, in general, our shipping fees cost more than what we charge our customers. Should this be the case on a return, the difference between the cost of the shipping and what the customer paid for shipping will be deducted from the total return amount.

      COMMON QUESTIONS REGARDING RETURNS

      DO I NEED A RECEIPT FROM MY PURCHASES?

      Your receipt or order number helps us to locate your purchase in the fastest way possible. However, if you don’t have a receipt, we should be able to find the purchase in other ways. From time-to-time, we may ask you for more information so we can better assist with your request.

      DO YOU TAKE EVERYTHING BACK?

      We’ll do our best to take care of you, but from time-to-time, we cannot accommodate a return. Sale items which have since been discontinued from our collection are only eligible for a store credit.  Food and formula cannot be returned, nor can opened packages of nappies or wipes.

      IS THERE A TIME LIMIT? WHAT IF THE ITEM IS WORN?

      Our goal is to do our best to take care of our customers and deal with them fairly. In return, we ask that our customers treat us fairly as well. From time-to-time we may not accept a return. There is no time limit for returns or exchanges.

      ARE THERE RE-STOCKING FEES?

      No. However, generally, our shipping fees cost more than what we charge our customers. Should this be the case on a return, the difference between the cost of the shipping and what the customer paid for shipping will be deducted from the total return amount.

      CAN GIFT CARDS BE RETURNED?

      No.

      CAN HEALTH, BATH AND FOOD/FORMULA PRODUCTS BE RETURNED?

      No.

      IS SHIPPING REFUNDABLE ON RETURNS?

      No, it is not. The customer is also responsible for the return cost of shipping to get the product back to Naked Baby Eco Boutique.

      FAULTY OR DAMAGED ITEMS

      Naked Baby delivers products of the highest quality, which should arrive in excellent condition. If, for any reason, there appears to be something wrong with your product or you discover the item is faulty, please contact us immediately (and, if possible, include a photo) so the problem can be resolved. It is our goal to do everything we can to resolve the situation to your satisfaction.

      In the instance of a faulty or damaged item, Naked Baby Eco Boutique will cover the return shipping costs.

      SENDING AN ITEM BACK FOR EXCHANGE

      Should you wish to exchange an item, you will be responsible for the cost of shipping in both directions.

      LOYALTY POINTS AND RETURNS

      If an item is returned, any loyalty points earned on the purchase will be debited from the purchaser’s loyalty points account. Should the current points balance be less than the points earned on the item returned, then the points balance will be returned to zero and the dollar value of the loyalty points shortfall will be deducted from the refund or credit given for the returned item.
