Overview
Imagination is the highest kite one can fly.
The Lofty Eco-Friendly Kites have been consciously designed with both sustainability and ease of use in mind. When Lofty set out to design their cool kites, they knew they wanted it to be durable and sustainable (rather than just ending up in the landfill), and easy enough for a two-year-old to fly it. Well, they nailed both!
Made from 100% super-tough recycled ripstop fabric, Lofty Kites are shaped to lift-off even in a light wind. The poles of the kite are strong, yet flexible and lightweight, and the handle is made from wood rather than plastic. The handles come with 30 m of cotton string to allow for a great hang time (and the locking slots allow you to keep your desired height), and they've been designed to ensure little hands can grip even on a windy day.

How to Fly
Our friends at Lofty have put together a few tips on how to get the best results from your kite.
WHERE
Try find an open space like a paddock or park. Anywhere that’s free from trees, buildings or powerlines!
The beach is the ultimate place to fly a kite, with its wide open spaces and constant breeze.
WHEN
Our kites have been designed to fly in even a light wind. The more consistent the breeze the easier it is to lift off.
If it’s blowing a gale, don’t worry. Your Lofty can handle it. But hold on because you’re in for a wild ride.
STEP 1
Pop the kite out of it’s bag and attach the horizontal pole into the pole tabs on the kite.
STEP 2
Tie a loop in the string big enough for the handle to fit through. Thread the looped end through the eyelet and then pass the handle though the loop.
Pull the string tight and you’re good to go!
SOLO LAUNCH
It’s easy to launch a Lofty on your own if the breeze is nice and consistent.
Hold your kite near the top of the string line, stand with your back to the wind and let it catch the kite.
As the kite ascends, slowly let more line out until the kite is soaring above you.
BUDDY LAUNCH
If you are having trouble on your own you can always ask a friend to help.
Holding onto the handle, have your buddy stand 5-10m downwind with the kite.
With a tight line and the kite pointing up, have them launch the kite into the sky.
You’re away flying.
About Lofty
Based on the west coast of Muriwai, New Zealand. Lofty is proudly a family-owned and operated company.
Jo and Nikolai head up team Lofty and are responsible for everything from design, branding, marketing, and logistics.
Arie and Pia may be the smallest members of the team but have the very important role of product testers and (sometimes reluctantly) kite models.
While on a holiday in Bali, every afternoon when the sea breeze picked up, we noticed a local boy and his grandad would walk the beach with a kite in hand. The joy and wonder on the boy’s face really resonated with us and sparked memories of kite flying as a child.
With this vision in mind, we returned home and set out to design our perfect kite. Although designing a new product from scratch is sometimes daunting, it allowed us to set some very important parameters that matched our values. Sustainability, Quality, and Functionality were the three pillars of the design, if we could not achieve all three the project just wouldn’t fly (excuse the pun).
Twelve months later and after multiple designs, materials, illustrations, samples, and late nights, we had landed on our final design and were ready for take-off! (again, sorry for the puns).
Shipping & Delivery
Here's the Quick & Dirty Rundown of Everything You Need to Know for Shipping & Delivery:
- NZ orders are charged a flat-rate of $8.00 per order (no rural surcharges)
- International shipping will be calculated at the checkout
- Generally, orders placed by 12:00 PM on business days are dispatched the same day as ordered, via overnight courier (meaning you should have your gorgeous goodies 1-2 business days after placing your order)
- 95% of packages are shipped via OVERNIGHT COURIER (Courier Post) as our standard level of service (exceptions are big & bulky items to the North Island)
- Internationl orders are shipped via NZ Post AirMail or DHL Express (you can select at checkout and delivery timeframes are provided there for each service)
- We DO NOT charge a rural surcharge (please allow additional days for rural delivery)
- Please anticipate delays after weekends, holidays and promotional times due to increased order volumes
- You'll receive a shipping confirmation e-mail when your order ships (these can sometimes end up on Spam or Junk, so please have a look there)
- Orders are dispatched Monday through Friday (excluding public holidays)

Returns & Exchange
OUR GUARANTEE TO YOU
Naked Baby Eco Boutique guarantees that you will be delighted by your shopping experience with us. If you are not happy with any aspect of your purchasing experience, please let us know so we may resolve these issues. Our aim is to not only meet our obligations under the Consumer Guarantees Act, but to exceed our customers’ expectations.
Returns and Exchanges (The Quick and Dirty):
- You are welcome to return an item for a refund to the original payment method within 21 days of purchase
- For purchases made online, the cost to return the item to us will be at the customer's expense (and the original shipping fee is non-refundable)
- Should you wish to exchange size or colour of an item, we will happily do so as part of our complimentary one-way exchange program (you ship the original item to us at your cost, and we will ship the replacement item to you at no additional shipping charge)
- Outside of 21 days, items may be exchanged or store credit provided, for up to 90 days
- Items MUST be returned in perfect, saleable condition, including the packaging (unwashed, unused, unworn - please package carefully so they don't get damaged when shipping back to us)
- All refunds will be processed via the original payment method, once the product is received by us in saleable condition, within 7 business days
- In the unlikely event that an item is faulty, please get in touch with us ASAP to chat about next steps (please DO NOT use the item)
