It does not smash like ceramic but, occasionally, when it hits a hard floor, a chip or crack may occur. We recommend you treat it carefully and with love. It will then love you back and last gorgeously while your little ones grow up.

So, why bamboo?

To put it simply, bamboo is used because Love Mae cares about the planet and the little people it supports! All of Love Mae's bamboo tableware is made from the bi-product of the bamboo industry, the leftovers that nobody uses. The leftovers are taken and ground into a powder, then food-grade binding resin is added and it's all poured into a mould. It's then treated not unlike porcelain, where it is baked twice - the first time to shape the product; the second time a decal is applied and sealed.
