BACKGROUND INSPIRATION

Olive + Page was born from a genuine desire to help others make moments count. It may be cliché, but life really does go by so fast. If we don’t stop to look around, connect with loved ones, and appreciate the current phase we’re in – before we know it, it’s gone. Whether it be through pausing to write in one of our journals, or connecting with little ones through our children’s picture books – both types of pages have one common mission: to promote presence, to increase connection, and to enhance moments of joy in everyday life.

SUSTAINABILITY
For Olive + Page, sustainability has been about consciously planning and looking ahead to ‘do what we can, where we can’ in order to make a positive contribution to the environment and surroundings in which we operate.   Right from the initial setup of Olive + Page, finding sustainable solutions has been an important value driver underpinning our business model. This has impacted a range of business decisions, from product design, to how we chose our suppliers and packaging solutions.   Below you will find ways in which we ‘do our bit’ as a small business. We continue to evaluate our business processes and work with suppliers to ensure sustainability is front-of-mind.   FSC Certified Paper   All Olive + Page journals and books use FSC-certified paper.  

The ‘FSC’ is an international non-profit organisation, the Forest Stewardship Council, which was founded to promote the practice of sustainable forestry worldwide. The FSC defines a set of strict standards, and then independently certifies that those standards have been met. This certification ensures that forest products - like paper - have been sourced in an environmentally friendly, socially responsible, and economically viable manner. An FSC certification tracks the whole supply chain in order to ensure that the paper or timber came from responsible sources.

The FSC also ensures that trees that are harvested are replanted or allowed to regenerate naturally. Forests must be managed with due respect for the environment, the wildlife, and the people who live and work in them.

Eco-Friendly Packaging   Olive + Page uses corrugated cardboard book-mailers rather than plastic bag alternatives or plastic bubble wrap, ensuring items are protected during shipping, while minimising our environmental impact.   To package products, Olive + Page uses eco-friendly tissue paper and paper stickers which are FSC certified, printed with soy-based inks, and use acid-free paper. Our box tape is recycled, water-activated, and uses soy-based inks. We also use recycled cards which are compostable.   Giving Back   In addition to choosing more sustainable options for products and packaging, Olive + Page believes in the importance of giving back to the wider society. Sustainability is of course, not just about environmental impacts, but social and economic factors as well.

Here's the Quick & Dirty Rundown of Everything You Need to Know for Shipping & Delivery:

  • NZ orders are charged a flat-rate of $8.00 per order (no rural surcharges)
  • International shipping will be calculated at the checkout
  • Generally, orders placed by 12:00 PM on business days are dispatched the same day as ordered, via overnight courier (meaning you should have your gorgeous goodies 1-2 business days after placing your order)
  • 95% of packages are shipped via OVERNIGHT COURIER (Courier Post) as our standard level of service (exceptions are big & bulky items to the North Island)
  • Internationl orders are shipped via NZ Post AirMail or DHL Express (you can select at checkout and delivery timeframes are provided there for each service)
  • We DO NOT charge a rural surcharge (please allow additional days for rural delivery)
  • Please anticipate delays after weekends, holidays and promotional times due to increased order volumes
  • You'll receive a shipping confirmation e-mail when your order ships (these can sometimes end up on Spam or Junk, so please have a look there)
  • Orders are dispatched Monday through Friday (excluding public holidays)

  • Outside of 21 days, items may be exchanged or store credit provided, for up to 90 days
  • Items MUST be returned in perfect, saleable condition, including the packaging (unwashed, unused, unworn - please package carefully so they don't get damaged when shipping back to us)
  • All refunds will be processed via the original payment method, once the product is received by us in saleable condition, within 7 business days
  • In the unlikely event that an item is faulty, please get in touch with us ASAP to chat about next steps (please DO NOT use the item)
