Unique glass option that's great for baby and the environment.

The Haakaa Gen. 3 Glass Baby Bottle has been thoughtfully designed to offer a natural feeding experience for you and your baby. Made from temperature-resistant borosilicate glass, these glass baby bottles are safe to both heat and freeze, making them a great option for storing expressed breast milk.

The orthodontic thumb-shaped teat mimcs the shape of a mother's nipple whilst breastfeeding, and the anti-colic vent allows your baby to feed continuously without taking in air bubbles or gasping for air between latches. The offset position of the bottle nipple allows your baby to feed without having to completely invert the bottle. Ergonomically designed, this glass baby bottle is easily and comfortably held during feeding.

Sizes Available: 90 ml and 160 ml

Please Note: As all babies are different, their requirements will not be the same. These parameters are meant only as guidelines.

Clean after each use. These baby bottles are dishwasher safe, however, it is recommended that you wash by hand with mild dish detergent, then rinse and dry thoroughly, to prevent the measurement markings from coming off.

It's recommended that bottle teats are replaced every two months (or earlier if you spot any signs of weakness or damage).

NOTE: the measurement markers are printed with food-grade ink, which may begin to wash off over time if washed with chemical-based ingredients. As such, it is recommended that you wash gently in warm water and sterilise as normal by boiling in water for 2-3 minutes.

Of all the plastic produced worldwide every year, 10% winds up in the ocean, with 70% finding its way to the ocean floor. There it will likely never degrade, leaving every square mile of ocean containing approximately 46,000 pieces of plastic.

An estimated 1,500 plastic bottles end up as waste in landfills or thrown in the ocean every second, with a huge portion of these being plastic baby bottles.

Scary stuff, right?! That's not even touching on the hundreds of chemicals used to create these bottles, which are also not microwave or heat-safe. We have all heard of BPA-free, but most people do not realise that many plastics (including those that are BPA-free) contain other chemical plasticisers. Unfortunately, many plasticisers are also endocrine disruptors similar to BPA, which means they may cause many of the same health issues. Some plasticisers may even be more dangerous to our children than BPA.

The Haka is a traditional ancestral war dance of the Māori people in New Zealand with a very special meaning 'Be a strong fighter, find strength by choosing to smile through whatever challenges life brings'. This is the message we have instilled in our Courtney.

Haakaa is a 100% family owned and New Zealand run company. The message behind our brand is a strong and passionate one and it is what drives us everyday to do what we do. Haakaa was developed through our struggle to find non-toxic and safe products for my little sister Courtney. Courtney is special needs being born with Autism among other disabilites. When protecting her health and preserving the environment for her future became our top priority, haakaa was born. Over the years, we found it extremely difficult to find green products suitable for infants and children. With most Eco baby brands only carrying a limited range and shipping to New Zealand was difficult and expensive. That was when we realised we could develop a range that is not only convenient and versatile, but also safe for more parents and their babies.

Today haakaa has an exciting range all made using environmentally friendly and safe raw materials such as stainless steel, glass, bamboo, and natural rubber. All haakaa products are designed and tested in New Zealand, Manufactured in selected advanced international factories under strict quality controls and successfully tested against the worlds highest safety standards (such as European EN14350 and US FDA).

We feel so blessed to be able to get our message out to other families. By creating safe yet stylish products we are not only protecting our precious children from harmful chemicals and toxins, we are ensuring their future and our planets future.

We truly believe that everything happens for a reason. Though life with a special needs child is challenging and exhausting at times, this amazing brand and our journey would not have begun without her. The lessons and experiences Courtney teaches us everyday is something we are all very grateful for and her smile and fighting spirit is the driving force behind each and every one of us.
